A graduate of Louisiana State University, Dr. Lorio completed his general surgical internship and orthopedic residency at the State University of New York at Buffalo. He completed a hand and microsurgery fellowship at The Hand Center of Western New York and received additional training in plastic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh. In addition, Dr. Lorio also completed the Simmons Spine Fellowship and a clinical practice fellowship with Dr. Hanson Yuan at the Health Science Center Syracuse.
Dr. Lorio seeks the most innovative ways to approach spinal and extremity surgeries. He focused his skills and energies on minimally invasive spine and peripheral nerve surgery and continually strives to improve both scientific knowledge and patient care. In the effort to discover new surgical techniques, he works directly with the medical device companies on new less-invasive techniques and products that will reduce recovery time, minimize postoperative pain and decrease the size and appearance of scars.
Dr. Lorio introduced no-stick, no dye MRI myelography in Louisiana. He was the first surgeon in Louisiana to perform microendoscopic discectomy "band-aid" surgery and subsequently introduced this technology to the Tri-Cities area. In addition, he was one of the first surgeons to implant Interpore Cross International's oval-shaped GEO cages. Dr. Lorio serves as a consultant for Exactech Corporation's Opteform, a thermoplastic polymer that is mixed with allograft to create a bone filler.
He is a member of the American Boards of Orthopedics and Spine Surgery (with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Hand Surgery), the North American Spine Society, Simmons Surgical Society, the Spine Arthroplasty Society, the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the Orthopedic Trauma Association. He Has published numerous articles and lectured internationally. Recognized by the Profiles of Hand Surgery in North America, Dr. Lorio is an assistant clinical professor at East Tennessee State University.

A graduate of North Georgia College and State University (Summa Cum Laude),
and the Medical College of Georgia, Dr. Testerman completed his general surgery
internship and residency at Jacksonville Health Educations Programs in Jacksonville,
Florida. He practiced general Orthopedics in Albany, Georgia for 11 years before
moving to Bristol, Tennessee in 1994. He was Board certified in 1986 and re-
certified in 1997 and 2009. His particular fields of interest are: total joint
arthroplasty (including hips, shoulders, reverse shoulders, and computer assisted
robotic total knees), operative arthroscopy, pediatric orthopedics, and sports
medicine. He is a member of the Tennessee Medical Association, the Tennessee
Orthopedic Association, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic
Surgeons.
He is constantly evaluating and searching for new and innovative techniques to
improve the function and comfort of his patients through ceramic bearing surfaces,
computer balanced total knees, and minimally invasive total hip incisions through
an anterior approach. Dr. Testerman pioneered computer assisted total knee
arthroplasty at Bristol Regional Medical Center, and is one of a select few surgeons
to perform robotic total knee arthroplasty in the Southeast United States. He is also
currently pioneering a new surgical technique with the Joint Implant Surgery &
Research Foundation involving neck sparing hip implants for total hip arthroplasty.
Dr. Testerman completed a mini-fellowship with Dr. James Andrews in operative
arthroscopy of the shoulder. He can repair rotator cuff tears, glenoid labrum tears,
ACL tears, and meniscal tears as an outpatient with minimal scars and pain when
compared with conventional open techniques. He was the director of Children’s
Medical Service Orthopedic Clinic in Albany, Georgia before moving to Bristol. He continues to enjoy working with children’s orthopedic problems having trained with Dr. Wood Lovell while training in Jacksonville, Florida.
“We strive to provide the most comprehensive and innovative orthopedic care for our patients from the newborn to the most venerable.”

Spinal Scoliosis is a lateral, or sideways curvature and rotation of the back bones (vertebrae), giving the appearance that the person is leaning to one side.
It can limit a persons ability to move normally. It can also bring on pain and reduced ability to breathe if a misshapen rib cage restricts normal lung growth.
Neuro-Spine Solutions employs physician assistants as a part of our staff to expand the delivery of quality health care. Physician assistants complete college training based on medical school curricula and work under the supervision of physicians.
The physician assistant has many responsibilities and performs a variety of tasks. A physician assistant is authorized to conduct physical exams, and is also credentialed to treat illness and diagnose, order or interpret tests. Physician assistants may also assist in surgery.
